Review:
This film was made in a style that was unique in its own standard issue shoot em up or a Scorsese gangster film in many ways, I found refreshing. This slowed down the pace of the dialogue scenes relatable and believable level of violence more realistic, and do not overdo the music. Those who can not handle too much or too realistic violence used to this movie.Some could feel the dialogue makes the movie drag a bit, but if you want a real movie , they are made to feel like you're sitting the actual negotiations. Attacks and long gaps, but to liven up a rather stable Scummy-ness of characters. James Gandolfini seemed to chatter too much, but I thought it was a point.The violence can be described as unsentimental, a lot of it can be difficult to define success, is not part of the Hollywood cliches played?. There are no heroes in this movie, because the director does not use cheap tricks, such as narration, excessive screen time, or to music assure you that the criminal should be rooting for the other. There is no demonization or glorification of violence, as it is shown without the effect of the music, and the viewers can decide for themselves what is presented. Not Schwartzenegger style shoot through and through, because of the violence is usually sudden and brutal and hard. Every shot is closer as fast as in real life, so you get a little jolt every shot as the gun range.The use of music is also played down and to make important and violence, dialogue and different. There is music, which gives the film some energy, but usually much less than the average Hollywood movie. It adds an element of excitement, because the music is not to give up on what is happening at any point (eg, a movie ominous music, when something bad happens, etc.).
