Review:
I just saw the film in Hairspray 5 Avenue Theatre in Seattle - the same theater where the musical Hairspray premiered five years ago. Maybe I am just dizzied by Zac Efron dashing good looks, but the magic that was produced on the stage by the original Hairspray cast has transferred perfectly to the big screen.I couldnt ask for more. Nikki Blonsky beautiful screened as bold and voluptuous Tracy Turnblad. John Travolta sent. Christopher Walken is interesting and funny. Queen Latifah is big, black, and beautiful. Michelle Pfeiffer - totally disgusting ... the list goes on.The candy colored clothes and thrilling choreography was fun and more serious parts of the film (though there are a few!) sincere.The only been touched and would like to have included is the song Im a mama Big Girl Now. Although it is a good addition, song and dance numbers performed another great movie together fine.I just caught myself smiling like a buffoon more than once. A must see for music lovers - or anyone who just likes having a good time.
